Antiktj reads the economic cycle — it does not predict it
Every week, Antiktj gathers in one place what companies announce about their profits, central bank decisions, commodities, interest rates, money supply and the real economy. It then compares the situation with past downturns since 2003 to tell which phase of the cycle we are in. It never says buy or sell: it describes, and the decision stays with the reader.

This week’s diagnosis
The phase of the cycle — expansion, tension or crisis — and two concordance scales: a cautious main one, and a maximum-sensitivity one that misses fewer downturns but raises more false alarms.

For each rule tracked: its threshold, today’s value, its latest triggers, whether it is on or off, and its track record — how many downturns it preceded, how many false alarms.

The method, in the open
Rules tuned on the S&P 500 from 2004 to 2012, then applied unchanged to eight other markets: CAC 40, DAX, FTSE 100, Ibex 35, Nikkei, Hang Seng, Shanghai, Sensex. Results, misses and limits are published in the appendix.
